Ripper
Fools Journey
2

Higher

Part: 1/7

Rating: I'm aiming for a tone much like Buffy or Angel, which are 15 to 18 rated in the UK.
Pairing(s): Giles and Ethan are in the same story, therefore it is vaguely G/E
Spoilers: Post Chosen, post Not Fade Away. Refers to earlier series canon.
Third in my Fool's Journey series, the rest in memories here or my fic tag. This one should basically make sense as a stand alone.

Summary: Rupert Giles and Ethan Rayne. Best mates, worst enemies, sometimes both at once. They've got a lot of history. So even when the Initative took Ethan away, Giles was sure he'd see him again, sooner or later...

So they're still his toys, but he seems to not mind us playing with them.
No money, no harm.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] pinkdormouse for beta.
Also, thanks to my f-list for all the 'shocky' discussion.

PS if you like, you can pretend it says shaken instead of shocky. Like choose your own adventure! ;-)

I'm reading the York Notes book on Beloved, and it is really rather annoying me. To start with I was wondering if I'd just read the book wrong, but now it annoys me, because I had a think and have concluded the Notes book is wrong instead.

While it acknowledges in passing that the text remains cloudy about if the woman called Beloved is the ghosty baby, it keeps on acting as if this was not only a foregone conclusion but the only right way to read it. This annoys.

I figured out why. Read more... )

All about misinterpretation.

I have only read the book once and might be getting bits plain wrong. If this was an essay I'd go back and reference it properly. But it is not an essay and I just blurt.

Now I should finish eating. I stopped half way to type and food is not so much hot by now.

I went out all the way to the shop and I bought donuts :-)

Yes, I've heard of this 'ideal weight' concept, but hey, walking! In the dark even! I had to get out the white crochet thingy for visibility!

While there I, er, bought the Radio Times, solely because it has Captain Jack on the cover... *facepalm*

... sometimes I wonder if its possible to be too much of a fan ...

Then I remember all the cons I virtuously haven't gone to and stop worrying :-)

Next, Robin Hood, and sugary goodness.

Did they just cast a random, historically unlikely, black man, make him evil, *and* kill him???
*facepalm*
I just... Does *no-one* learn from what comics do wrong???

*headdesk*

Outside of that there was a lot of running, a lot of annoying, a lot of very heavy handed 'war on terror' references only interesting for making the folk hero be equated with the terrorist, and a Marion development that could be predicted without even knowing there was a series let alone what was in it.

The guy with the axes got some lines.
Not an actual character, but lines.

Alan a Dale got a nice line with that 'clever or very clever' bit. Er, was it that? Something like that. But he already had a character.

Basically, I'm deeply bored.

There are a bunch of ways people's senses can not work so very well.
What if there was an Immortal who was deaf to the sensing another Immortal buzz?
He'd never know what he was fighting
except for watching them come back from the dead or heal or whatever.
He'd have to decapitate everything and hope...
