May. 11th, 2007 07:48 pmHave been reading more Doctor Who books.
The ones with the 10th Doctor now.
Am left feeling sort of niggly unsatisfied.
Have been thinking about it. Suspect that 10 isn't so much out of character as just... not translating well to paper. I mean, when he's rattling on a mile a minute on TV you can just go with it, pick out data and watch him bounce around grinning. Try and copy that on paper and you've got a page of utter gobbledygook. On TV the babble is usually covering something else interesting going on around it. Or at least easy to tune out.
It's like the writers went looking for distinctive features, 10-is-not-9 features, and found *obnoxious* features instead.
Blah.
Also these books feel a bit young. This last one had no twist I noticed. It went the way I figured it would from when Bobb introduced Robbie. How boring is that?
I may just be sulky.
Down the road appears to have the fair on again. Either that or there's loud music and screaming for no particular reason. Double blah.
One more book to go and I've finished the box set.
It's weird how the world is concurrently too full of books to ever read them all *and* never having enough books in.
