Hello, theme.
That right there is why I want to write Giles and Andrew.
And I'm liking this version of Harry Dresden. He's sort of beat up and we get to find things out in pieces. It's neat.
Hand of Glory is one of the classics, but nicely spun here with the different motives and the gruesome when the guy gets squished in the wall.
And Morgan recruiting the kid instead of killing him? I like this world. That's a worky plan right there.
Of course I like the book world too, but I think I'd like the TV world more in a go there every week way.
Also, Bob and Murphy get to be proper characters too. Little bits and moments adding up to more character depth all the time. I likes it.
Storm Front
shiny!
I read somewhere this was a two hour pilot and it got cut down into a 1 hour episode?
Would explain a few things that seemed odd.
I think they kept all the stunts and FX. There's more magic, of the glowy floaty lookit that sort, than in any of the other eps so far. And Harry gets beat up a lot more too. Ouch.
Story was solid too. All that temptation and reform stuff they're playing with. Neat.
And also a chunk about not jumping to conclusions and how he looks into things a bit deeper than most people would. Partly because all the people around him are judging him on appearances based on that one bit of past. And also because first glance tends to point at him, so, that part is personally inconvenient.
The 'gets the girl' part was the only odd bit, given that she seemed pre-got. We know nothing about their relationship, how it built and how they are together when things aren't going boom, so it's more of a question than an answer and not so much a yaay.
okay, I only have 4 episodes left. I find this greatly annoying. This series has Stuff to do! Lots of interesting themey stuff! And cool stories in every episode! There should be very plenty more.
meh.
