I watched that Science and Islam thing, one episode of it.
I kept on clapping for the shiny of it.
They used math to figure out how big the world is so they could figure out where to face to pray. that's just neat.
and there was a lot of chemistry, to make glass and tiles and soap and perfume and also to make categories and explanations.
and there was the book about optics, with experiments to go with every theory.
I like shiny stories to go with science.
I'm having a break cause I don't want my brain to slide off the interesting things.
on BBC4 now there's something about 80s fashion.
... I was going to say 'not shiny' but it's not exactly short of metal and suchlike.
I think my fashion tastes have stayed fairly consistent.
They're not so much 20th century, but they are consistent.
