This one was okay. I stopped in the middle to not as it turned out go out. I remembered who everyone was when I started again, so that was nice.
I liked the Bad Thing, and the Why It Was Bad. Felt themey after No Man's Land.
I liked the Ace&Hex banter.
I definitely liked Ace calling 7 on his habit of withholding information. And 7 apologising for it.
I have this nagging feeling still like I don't know Hex very well. I mean, four stories, isn't very much, but the bits we get about him... like, this story, the distinctive-to-Hex things were just things he said about his past. The actual actions weren't particularly distinct. He wandered around and got in trouble and did reading. It's vaguely companiony, but particularly Hex? *shrugs*
What would I prefer... well, I guess I'd like a more medical point of view more often. A couple of seconds of trying to help every time someone is injured, a bit of medical precision in terminology sometimes. I don't know.
Eh. Maybe I'm not noticing stuff.
Mind, Ace was a bit... passive in this one too. I mean, yes, companion gets injured, that's one of those things that happens. But... Ace follows a bloke around, gets injured, and spends a bunch of time unconscious? Meh.
I feel a bit meh about this one. It had some nice strands, bits about art and war, interesting stuff. I think I'll have to listen to it again when I'm not sulking.
