Jun. 12th, 2006 01:28 pmI bought a bunch of In Nomine rule books, for they were on special offer and I have minimal willpower in such circumstances. They all say 'needs main rule book', but I have the GURPS version main rule book. Or at least I would if Ferrit brings the books back, for I left them in his car rather a long time ago.
I also had the Ethereal player guide, and grabbed bits and pieces to fuel fic. It was with that in mind I got more of them. Because actual RPGing would require actual RPGers, and those I am rather lacking. Also never had any to play In Nomine or Mage with. I like the big philosophical stuff, the idea that ideas are fighting just as much as the people who hold them, the goal of the game being ascension or redemption or those kinds of things. Running around killing orcs gets a bit repetitive.
So far I have looked at the Corporeal Player's Guide and remembered how annoyed I got that the Ethereal, including Pagan, get so little space.
Also their version of Ghosts is maybe a bit limited for what I had in mind. They have to have achieved their destiny or fate, and be avoiding heaven or hell. In fact, even if they go to Pagan heaven, they are headed for either reincarnation, heaven, or hell, eventually. This to me is rather annoying. I shall my own versions invent instead.
GURPS rules are good for that. I had GURPS Spirits, which has rules for ghosts and gods both. And how one can become the other. In Nomine ethereals can try that too. Is fun.
I am far too warm, and very annoyed. I had a bath but I am still too warm.
I also find I'm more interested in sociology than RPGs. Lots of theoretical rules in each I guess...
