I've been listening to these and playing a silly little blow up the gems game. I'm on level 131, and it takes about 3 screens to go up a level, maybe more. So that's a lot of listen time. I think I will shortly have listened to all of them, though there's about another couple dozen to order. After that though I will have no more new audios until they make another one. Or I start listening to the companion chronicles and all the ones off the main numbering as well. Which I can already tell I'm going to do. I'm just in the audio habit now. Which is fun.

Red Dawn was... you know, I can't really tell you. I fell asleep listening to the first disc, and the second disc got boring so I tuned out until plot started to happen, and then the story was over. I think stuff happened in hissy voices and there was a lot of talking about honor and some bad science with clones remembering things that happened to the originals. I know Doctor Who isn't very sciencey science fiction, or possibly not SF at all depending on your criteria, but :eyeroll: I can't remember the Doctor doing much except be earnest at people and I can't remember his companion doing much at all... or who it was... Oh, Peri, she was talking about botany right at the start. Possibly I could review it better if I listened without falling asleep. But I was awake through the second disc and still didn't get much out of it.

... sometimes I write these things and feel all guilty cause they're mean...

Winter for the Adeptwas one of the ones that doesn't know how to be an audio play. It starts out more like an audio book, which isn't what we're there for, and then it keeps stopping to describe things, and it feels all clunky. The actual story was a bit fun. Shortage of Nyssa doing anything distinctive, maybe. Also some of the other characters had voices I had trouble telling apart, so I was fuzzy on who did what fairly often, but that's just me. I like that some of the dodgier accents could by the end be read as Clues. I didn't like the religious-obsessive-crazy-person bit. Religion is not always crazy and crazy people don't always go grab a knife even if they did just refuse to take their meds. Blah. But it was a story and stuff happened and I didn't fall asleep even a little, so that works. And its flaws were pretty much from being early and new and stuff. Mostly it worked okay.

The One Doctor was fun. It was also Being Funny, which works on me less often than it wants to, but I was amused quite often. I quite liked it, even though I'm unlikely to go back to it much.
I also like that they've got a someone-fancies-the-Doctor story about 6. With comments about him being comfy and well padded. It takes all sorts.

Next I can either choose something productive to do or put another disc in. Hrm, let me think...
