Why am I pretty much all awake at 0545? Weird.


I just had this dream that was like a contemporary post-apocalyptic AU of Blakes 7. Only instead of the Liberator, there was a coach. One of those big shiny long haul ones with the massive cargo space and the toilet.

We might still have called it the Liberator, I'm not sure.

But there are more seats than just 7, and we were filling them all up.

And also the skills of the group turn out to have totally different priorities in that setting. I mean Avon remains the snarkmeister general, but somewhat less spectacularly useful.

Also on the bus was him that was Captain on Firefly. I know his name there, Mal, but I don't know if it was his name here.

There was also me, sat in the front seat, which was actually a swivel chair this time. It span all the way around if I tucked my legs in just right, or got stuck if they stuck out too far. I sat cross legged and got spun around a lot, then tried to point only forwards. I did meditation.

Just remembered either AP or Duncan MacLeod was there for the meditation bits.

Anyways, I did meditation and tried to guide the bus down safe pathways. It was sort of like being a compass needle, but with opinions and the ability to read. When they ignored me we tended to get attacked by knights in chainmail with long spears.

They ignored me once because the locals put a 2 shilling toll on their B road, and not only was that a lot, we probably didn't have 2 shillings.

So we found a bus with Avon and Villa in it, and also like some general or military guy. He lacked name or fandom. I thought Blake would have a hissy, but no, he was all humble and grateful, because he hadn't that kind of training.
*Very* AU then, obviously.

So in charge of the bus was like a triumvirate then, Blake and that general guy and someone else who was at the time driving.

Then we found 2 other coaches at once. I predicted they would have Jenna in them, probably driving. Not that pilot and coach driver are entirely similar skill sets, just, accounting for translation.
So Jenna was there - in both of them. And also a whole bunch of other women, with the emphasis on variety. Colors and shapes and suchlike. But in one coach everyone was unconscious. In the other nobody was doing anything, not standing or talking or anything, until we got there. Then they did everything we suggested, happily and with no sense of danger. It was bizarre.
I think there was some kind of thing with them being split in half with different qualities, but dreams aren't good at resolving plots.

So then we got half way up a mountain and we'd had a long stretch of good road and were barrelling along happily and then screeeeeeeech to a halt, for the road stopped. Big chunk missing. Just the other side of the gap, road goes up, road goes down, we could go either way. But first there is a gap.

So it looks like our only option is to go back the way we came, which would take all day at least and everyone would be annoyed because we wanted to go over the mountain. But I had an alternative plan. I would join the psi abilities of everyone in the coach and grab a chunk of mountain and pack it in the gap.

By humming.

We'd been driving along, I meditating, and then humming, and then all the bus joined in (well, almost all, except for pockets of sulking or willpower up front) and all minds were ready to be pointed at a task. Nifty.

so, anyway - now I'm stuck wonder, who else was on the bus?
B7 equivalents, yes. Probably just from season 1 to start with, but they can all join in, that would be fun. They'd all have like origin stories in different post-apocalypse communities.

And then there was probably Duncan MacLeod, so we could have Immortals. That means Methos and Amanda get seats. And probably Richie. Which along with Vila means we've got 3 thieves of varying abilities, two of them also pretty good con artists. Actually, without canon evidence, I'd say Methos has that skill set too.

And there was someone played by Nathan Fillion, quite possibly Mal. But he wasn't one of the 3 in charge, I think. Which would be odd if it was Mal. But he definitely wasn't Caleb (phew) and I don't know anyone else he's been.
Maybe he's young Mal. Like, Mal before the war, but then the apocalypse happened. Huh.



So now I'm thinking, coach has like 48 seats, sometimes a couple more, and a driver.
So who would be in all the seats?
